The weekend is near and it has to be celebrated, of course!
How about a yummy cake to enjoy in the evening or during the weekend?
Here at Givensa we (well maybe a bit to often) celebrates with a special cake from Sweden. The name of the cake is “Kladdkaka”, meaning sticky cake in Swedish. For sticky is just what is it is. You really need to try it because it’s among the most delicious cake you can eat, for sure! 😀
2 dl sugar
3 tbsp of cocoa
100-150 g dark chocolate
2 tsp vanilla sugar
125 g butter
1 dl flour
1/2 tsp salt
Powdered sugar for decoration
Serve with whipped cream
Oven temperature: 175 C
Secret ingredients for even better taste: 1-2 tablespoons of nutella and/or chopped Daim!
- Beat eggs and sugar until it becomes fluffy.
- Melt the chocolate and the butter and mix with remaining ingredients. Note, mix gently otherwise the batter becomes to fluffy and airy and the cake will be dry.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes depending on how sticky cake you want the cake to be.
- Let cool and serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
The cake should be solid on the outside and sticky on the inside. The tricky part is the exact cooking time in the oven. The cooking time must be precise. Is it in the oven for too long it becomes dry, and if it’s in to short time it becomes too sticky. You simply have to find your own perfect time, depending on the baking pan and oven. But somewhere between 10-15 minutes is usually good a good time. The cake sould be removed from the oven when it is a bit stickier than what you want. Because often it solidifies a little bit more afterwards.
