"The last log" is a pencil sharpener design by Thai design agency Qualy whom are known for taking environmental aspects into the design of their products.

The pencil sharpener has two holes which guarantees it to work with just about any pencil. Once the plastic dome fills up it is easily removed to the sharpener can be emptied and cleaned. Complete instructions are provided on the side of the box.

Why we like it

The pencil sharpener is modeled as a little squirrel sitting on a log of a chopped down tree. When you sharpen the pencil the leftovers from the pen starts to fill up the room around the squirrel in an attempt to remind us about where the wood we consume come from.

We like the subtle way Qualy sends the message to think twice about the environment. As always with Qualy the product also comes in a box made from recyclable carton and the print is make with environmental friendly soy ink.
